Good buy?
I just found a 93 formula firebird w/ 126000 miles on the body and 7,000 on the 97 lt1 motor tht he swapped in it looks to be in good condition, it is listed as $5,000 on autotrader but i talked to him and he said tht he would sell it to me for $4500 it needs rear pads and a new shift boot, i am waiting for the vin to carfax it, Would this be a good deal?

Re: Good buy?
I wouldn't say its a good deal, but it sounds about right. If everything is as it sounds I would say you're not getting ripped off, but you could possibly get a better deal if you wanted to wait for it. However, it sounds acceptable.

Re: Good buy?
i think you might be able to haggle him down, but ild be real careful over things like different motors(unless i personally knew where it came from, and i put it in). god knows why they had to change it out, and howmany miles are on the new one. that motor off the 97 might have had the piss run out of it by some guy, or have even more miles then the body. and it is believable for someone to put more then 1000 miles a month on a car. (im not trying to be a party pooper, just watch yourself, just in case)
