What does everyone think about the digital dash on the new Civic?

I think it's great. It looks awesome. I don't know why so few cars have digital dashes. I don't see how they would be much more expensive to build than regular dashes (maybe only a little more expensive). I think there should also be a button on it to change the color, so when you get tired of looking at it you change the color layout for a complete new look and feel.

The first time I ever saw a digital dash was when I was a little kid in the late 80's. It was on a Chevy Celebrity and I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen.

Ahhh it grew on me a little but its to cockpitish..Kinda looks like I'm in a Japanese rocketship..Not that I frequent Japan or the moon but in my mind thats what it reminds me of.

I admit that the layout is pretty nice in new civic, but I never was really a fan of the numeric speedo display. I just reminds me of 80s cadillacs. IMO I thingk there should be an analog gauge type speedo for a so called sport sub compact.

To me, this is the greatest design ever.
I just cannot stop loving this digital speedo especially when driving with sleepy eyes that has to take a second to really read the analog speedo.

I believe the reason why there are not too many of these speedo is because we Americans do not like it. For example, the Suzuki Aerio had to change back to analog speedo on the 06 model.

Digital speedos are the bomb, that's the 1 thing (and I do mean 1 thing) that I miss about my '90 oldsmobile. I've yet to even sit in one of the new Civics, but it seems like it'd be a lot easier to see how fast you're going without having to take your eyes off the road for as long.

I cant get into them, my dads vette used to have a digital speedometer and it used to just piss me off for some reason. I always found it harder to read the digital at a quick glance because you can just gauge where the needle is on a speedo and get a general idea of how fast your going. Of course that might be because I was usually flooring it...

it looks great but its also easier for cops to see how fast ur goin i mean they can pull up beside u and they can read it and u busted

Call me a purist but I hate it. Just seems gimmicky like they figured people would be so amazed at the "futuristic" look with the whole split design it would sell even more civics than the 3 billion honda already sells

I really don't like the digital speedometer at all. A conventional analog speedometer provides a sense of proportion to how fast you are going. And, yeah, it does remind me of the tacky digital speedometers found in General Motors products back in the 1980s. I wonder how much it costs to replace one when it burns out? I hope they are cheaper to replace than the GM ones were.
