Wiper Motor 96 LHS
Hi, having a problem with my wiper motor after an ice storm. The ice had built up under the cowl and I didn`t notice it until I tried the wipers on the road. I did manage to get them working again after pouring a lot of hot water into the cowl to melt the ice. When I used them again they were very slow. My question is, is the wiper motor done or can it be a relay?
Thank You in advance for any help. Ivan. |

Re: Wiper Motor 96 LHS
There is two relays in the Power Distribution Box for the wipers, one is for the Intermittant setting and the other is the Low/High Speed relay, either one of those could of heated up from the current draw of the stalled wipers and damaged the contacts, try swapping each with another relay in the box as they are all interchangable, if that fiixes the problem then get new relays, don't put the bad relays back in any other spot in the box or something else won't work right, put the original wiper relays back in their respective places and go get replacements. If that doesn't fix the speed problem then it is possible that you heat damaged the wiper motor from it being stalled and will have to be replaced.
