GMC 7000 strong gas odor ?

Hello all I just bought a 1988 GMC 7000 dump truck It has a 366 carburated engine. The previous owner said he just installed a new carb. The truck seems to run fine once it warms up but there is a strong odor of gas while it is running. Could this problem be a carburator adjustsment ? floats ? etc? or does it sound like something else? I can't see any gas leaking anywhere. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Chuck
