Subwoofer in a 3rd gen 4Runner, easy way to run it?

Anyplace to run a subs power cable without doing any drilling through the firewall? I prefer not to run it under the vehicle as I plan to do some 4 wheeling once i have it all set up, so I am hoping there is a pre-drilled hole that is easy to go through.

There are a couple of harness boots you can run it through in the firewall. HOWEVER if you tear the boot largerthen the wire you are using it will let engine compartment ait into your cab.

Know where these are located at? I am also contemplating setting up a carputer that I would have run DC power, so it would be cleaner for me to go ahead and run it directly from the battery. Depending in the size of these I may just end up drilling firewall afterall.

Just follow the big harnesses in the engine compartment back to the firewall.
There should be at least one on each side. One for the fuse block area and one for the ECU (passenger side)
If you are running high amps connect it drirectely to the battery BUT use an in line fuse at that point because if you short out a 6ga wire it will set fire to your truck or blow your battery or both.

Yeah, I was going to be using an inline fuse for the amp no doubt. Now I am looking that using a power inverter and power controller for the carputer portion may be wiser in the long run for that part, though (fewer cables running under the molding etc.)

Run the wires next to the transmission hump and flatten them out (no stacking).
If you try to get them all under the rocker panel covers the will eventually short out to chassis or to a screw.
If you think about it the carputer will just drop the AC voltage to a low dc voltage. Power inverters are not efficient at all. They consume allot with out anything plugged in. I have never seen one to work very well at all through the cig plug.
