I have put on brand new back brake shoes and drums. I can turn the drum freely but when I put the tire bakc on it will not turn at all, it just totally freezes up. What could be causing this problem?

It sounds like your brake shoes may not be put on correctly. I'm thinking that the brake drum is being held out away from the hub by the brake shoes. Double check your shoe install. Regards Dan

Re: Back Brakes, help!!!!
Did you size up the rear shoes with the old ones.I think some have a wider shoe than others. Or at least I seen two sizes listed for rear shoes on some automotive websites. Did my front brakes a few weeks back waiting tell it warms up some to do the rear.
