Cool Automatic lights have a problem

My '97 Lumina has the lights that turn on when it gets dark. Used to work just fine.

Now ... the headlights still come on, but the dash and tail lights do not.

I can still turn the rest of the lights on with the light switch.

Also, when this problem first started the daylight driving lights worked just fine. Now, the DDL do not work at all.

Any ideas welcome.

Re: Automatic lights have a problem

sounds like the DRL module is going bad, since the rest of the lights work when the switch is turned on manually.

Re: Automatic lights have a problem

I bought my '97 used in October of '97 and DRL never worked, although all of the other light functions are fine. It never really bugged me, but now that the topic is on the table, I may dig into it. Where's this module located; under the dash or under the hood? Were DRL standard in '97 or an option. I have an LT, not an LTZ.
