Keyless Entry 99 Suburban
My power locks are working intermittantly. Sometimes all the locks come up, sometimes not. My mechanic replaced the power lock relay. That did not work. He spoke with the dealer and they dealer says it is probably the remote keyless entry transceiver which costs $860.
I said not worth it. Does anybody know where this transciever is located? I want to disconnnect it and see what happens. I am also wondering if I can remove it, and then install an aftermarket system like the many I see on the web which cost about $50. Any ideas would be appreciated. I replaced the drivers side master (door/window) switch as well (to fix a bad window switch) and that did not help the problem either. |

Re: Keyless Entry 99 Suburban
You might check with your local Stereo Shop that installs aftermarket keyless entry systems?
Batterys new in the key transmitters?

Re: Keyless Entry 99 Suburban
If you just need the receiver, check with your local parts yards. The same receiver was used in most 99-01 GM trucks/suvs.
