Re: Oil question
Welcome to the Forum!!!
If you search in this forum about synthetic oil, you will find quite a bit of information. But, mostly you will find that the guys, and girls, who have synth in their engines will tell you to go with FULL synth, like Mobil One (the preferred favorite, by far). Also, use a high quality filter like Wix or NAPA Gold, and stay away from FRAM - evil incarnate!! Since you only have 57,000 miles on the vehicle, and assuming that yo uhave done regular changes with dino in the past, you probably don't have to flush the engine. Remember to use the recommended weight of 5w-30 for the 4.3l engine, and if yo udecide to leave the oil in for more than 8000 or so miles you will want to change your filter and top off at about 5000-7000 miles. Definately run a search of the forum to see what others have to say about synthetic. Most of the people here swear by it. Hope this helps.

Re: Oil question
I think most everyone on the board agrees, if your going to do it - go all the way!!
Go Full synthetic, it will save you problems in the future.

Re: Oil question
remember, if you switch over to the synthetic and for some strange reason you don't like it, you can always switch back to the conventional oil without any problems. when switching over to synthetic, do a oil change at the regular 3k mile for the first time cause you are going to have so much crap in the oil since the synth has a much better cleaning ability
