No heat problem

Have 1999 Leganza. Luke warm air coming out when heater is on.
Have replaced thermostat, heating switch, and Heater Core (2nd time).
Is there a heat sensor that we don't know about? I cannot believe that I
have bought faulty thermostats, heating switch and heater cores. I cannot
be the only one that has this problem
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for any help

Re: No heat problem

My wifes '00 has the same problem. I haven't gotten into it really, been too busy too. I know some cars use a little motor, like a stepper to control the hot/cold flap in the HVAC, which is why the little hot/cold knob is so easy to turn, because it it no longer cable controlled. I have the feeling something isn't right with the circut, but as soon as I have the time to check it out I will post here to let you know what I found out on the situation...

Re: No heat problem

Thanks. I thought I was the only one in the world with this problem. My guys are still on top of this, but nothing so far. I will show them your msg and see what happens.
Thanks again.

THe Leganzas were shipped with the incorrect coolant in them that reacted with the metal in the engine and became corrosive.

I have seen water pump impellers eaten away, head gaskets, and parts of the block.

Supposedly they were all changed at port but a few got thru. Funny our dealer must have got ALL the ones that werent.

Feel both heater hoses going into the heater core on the firewall they should both be hot when the engine is hot. If not you may have a problem like I listed or a blockage.

Re: No heat problem

Thanks for the input. Would this still apply to a 1999 Leganza? I did have heat when I bought the car in 2002, but thereafter I changed the thermostat, and heater core twice and just changed the water pump a couple weeks ago. What would be the correct coolant to put in? Can't hurt.
Thanks again

Re: No heat problem

You must have an all electronic deal re the heatas you have a later model than what I have. I have the manual switch (just replaced it too) and I am told it does open the vent.
I really like the car. It's a tough one and a lot of people don't know that about the Daewoo, but this heat thing................

Thanks

Re: No heat problem

It's more than your heater right? It's just not your blower motor? Will the a/c work or the vent? I have the problem where my blower motor is touchy and only works if I bang on it sometimes.

Re: No heat problem

No, it's not the blower, the blower works fine, has good ac, good flow through all the ranges on the blower speed and outlets. It only seems to be the hot/cold range selector for the temp. only.
