Re: buying new car narrowed choice to 4

GTO

the RX-8 is overrated
the 350Z is expensive to mod
the new eclipse GT has no aftermarket and is wrong wheel drive

Re: buying new car narrowed choice to 4

Id get an RX8, check out the Top Gear review of it...they say a lot of good things about it. the 350Z looks the best out of all of them, but I hear they are heavy, and drive like it.

Go to www.video.google.com and type in "top gear rx8" and something should come up

I have a thing for rotary engines, so I'll go w/ the RX-8.

i don't think that's quite possible, good luck w/ that one though, i was sure it was fairly unlikiely to turbo the new ones

with all the things happening with the rx-8 having overrated numbers and the rotary engine's problems with reliabiltiy (depending how its taken care of), i'm not a big fan of them

if you are performance minded, it is the GTO, GM has done some great things as far as performance goes

looks--350Z

and if you are loyal to eclipses, get that one then

Re: buying new car narrowed choice to 4

Yeah, I have heard the same thing about turboing the new RX8's, but from what I hear you can drop an RX7 motor in there with very little effort. Thats what all the drift guys do to their 8's. IDK, I just like the RX8, the rear doors are pimp shit, and there is just something about how they sound. plus, 200+ HP out of a 1.3 engine is amazing. Granted the torque is low, but the car is so light that it doesnt really matter. Plus it's RWD. The GTO is nice, but it just looks too plain...idk, Im not a big GM/Ford guy...i like the imports (even if Mazda/Mitsu arent true imports).

Re: buying new car narrowed choice to 4

wow. 400 hp and tq for that pontiac GTO, but it's a V8 and only comes in auto!

I think the RX-8 looks a lot nicer and is more original reving to 8.5k before redline.

The 350Z looks nice and has more power. I like the sound of the VG35.

If it were my choice, I'd choose from the 350Z or RX-8, but 350Z > RX-8 imo.

Re: buying new car narrowed choice to 4

According to Top Gear, the 350Z, the RX-8, and the BMW M3 run the same lap time on their track. I would have thought the M3 would have spanked them both, but I guess it's a lot squirelrier than either of the other ones. IDK what the GTO would do, but the RX-8 and the 350 are both fast cars...id still go with the RX-8

Re: buying new car narrowed choice to 4

the RX-8's handling more than makes up for its lack of torque.

Re: buying new car narrowed choice to 4

gto= shit for room/ space; really good power plant though; gas guzzler.
rx8=acording to the top gear thing it has crap for room in the back seats;reliable rotary engine; good power; styling is (imo) really good; and better mpg
i say rx8
