This afternoon, I bought this scooby, Hasagawa's Subaru 2005 Mexico winner. Let's see some pics of it and compare with the Tamiya's Monte version (even Tamiya one is 2004 ver.)
sorry for the dust I dont know why Hasagawa still like to make the on-body lightpods although they will easy to applying some shine silver like Gunze SM07. Its very easy to get an outstanding effect when attaching Tamiya's plates light, but like Marcus always says" Its OK...OK......"![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The body look good, sharp, slightly mold lines, just have some overflows but can catch up the quality of Tamiya one. The underside....loose details than Tamiya one, but acceptable. When cover with the stoneguard, no one can see the difference..... ![]() But the upper side, bigger pins and looks rough....need alot of work... ![]() The rear wing is alright, same as Tamiya one, lack of vertical lines at the end of the two sides.( correct with a brass wire) ![]() The end plate of cab is not good , I like Tamiya's more. ![]() The rims are good(sorry for the fuzzy pic...) I prefer if they come with prepainting gold....... ![]() Hasagawa finally realised that the narrow tire they used for decades are not suitble for modern rally cars. They "copy" Tamiya's gravel tires...the same pattern , same quality....good job..... ![]() The worst parts I think.....why they like putting all things together....the rolling cage are partly together with the doorpanels...why Hasagawa always doing that...and no reinforce strip on the front of rolling cage. ![]() Bueatiful decal made by Cartograph. No template CF for seats.... ![]() Generally I like this kit, even it has some shortcomings, I hope if Tamiya won't focus on rallycars like before, our"Mr Hasagawa" will do a good job....

Re: New scoby. Let's see what Hasagawa have done
Looks like a reasonable effort. I can't really tell but it looks like they got the 2005 fenders right, for the most part. It's always hard to compare because of the size difference between Tamiya and Hasegawa.
I just wish they would stop making parts in blue and black: Is it that hard to mold everything in light gray? |
