93 eclipse - No heat - It's 0 degrees out!

I was coming back from sking and the temp guage never moved and the heat does not work. Check engine came on eventually. I'll get the code read tomorrow but I'm worried about it tonight! Anyone familiar with this. if it's the thermostat I'm curious as to why the check engine came on.

Thanks,
Bob

Thermostat could be stuck open or it could be just because it's too cold out. Try putting a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator to deflect some of the really cold air and build some heat in the system.
