Exclamation 1991 V6 3.1 chip?

i was wondering if my car has any kind of chip in it that i could replace with a police chip to get it shifting faster. its real annoying cause when i floor it the rpm's hit of 7000 before it shifts in 1st and 2nd! its rediculous. what can i do about this?

also when it idles, its at 1200 rpm's, is that too high? when idling it makes a REAL annoying squeal and i can't figure out what it is. i've been told bolts in my engine head are loose and vibrating. its the worst in the mornings in Drive, in neutral or park its not as bad. some please let me know.

well I would say find out what transmission you got and they might have a shift kit. You want your head to snap a little when it shifts. I dont think theres a chip for your trans because 91s arnt electronic control.

Actually there's a ton you can do to our V6's. Moist of it is painstaking and requires alot of knowledge and research, but there is hope for them. As for a shift chip, I've never heard of such a thing. I do know there are shift kits that you install in your transmission, but I'm not sure if there is one specificially for yours. As for your shifts, it sounds to me like your gears may be slipping, might be time for a rebuild. For the squeal, I'd have to guess it's either your belt tensioner or your belt itself.
