Minor dent question

Hi all,

My 2001 Grand Am was recently struck in a parking lot by an 80 year old man driving an SUV . So there is a rather small dent right above my right front tire that isn't terribly noticeable but enough to get on my nerves. The problem is I am not sure if it is more affordable for me to take it to the shop or to buy one of those "dent popper" contraptions that you see advertised on TV. Does anyone have any advice about those things because I want to know if they work before I go out and buy one and/or potentially make the dent worse...

thank you...

Re: Minor dent question

Don't waste your money on the dent popper they really don't work. You may be better off using the old toilet plunger technique if the dent is big enough this will work. If it is a small dent you may be better off to get a body shop to look at it because you can do more damage if it is done wrong.

Re: Minor dent question

If the toilet-plunger technique doesn't work, if you remove the fender or get in behind it, you may be able to gently back-pick / pop it back out from behind with a rubber mallet and a rag.

Re: Minor dent question

Check out Dent Wizard, might be cheaper then a body shop, heard good things about them, seen the end result on a couple of cars and it was impressive.
