Where do I get this paint??

My 1990 Eclipse GS-T has some faded spots on the front hood and on the rear spoiler. I want to get some spray paint but I can't find this color anywhere. The color of the car is red but none of the stores around here carry that specific red for Mitsubishi from that year. Can I get it online somewhere?

Do you even know what the paint code is? Kind of hard to help you unless you know what your looking for.

when you find the right paint make sure you take it real slow. i screwed my front finder with spray

No, can't find the code anywhere. I checked Kragen's paint book and all they have for the paint for Pre-1994 Mitsubishi is Black. No red, for some reason. I will contact the dealer but I think it will be waay overpriced.

You know it's going to look like shit, even if you do a good job. Spraypaint has a 1% chance of looking as good as regular paint, and that's if it's applied by a professional painter. Plus then you have to put on a clearcoat and if you put on a spray clear then you'll get overspray and orange-peal and it'll look like hell.

It will definetely be better than what it is now, half white half redish peeling off paint.

After you do it that way, your gonna wish you had done it right the first time.

Yeah, maybe. I am pretty good with these things and I won't just start spraying like crazy. It will be wet-sanded first to get a glass-like finish and then painted. I will use primer and then the real paint. It won't be like factory paint but I just don't want to attract attention with a half white faded hood, that's all

Don't wet sand it, scuff it with a sotch-brite pad to scuff it up before you prime it. Also use a primer/filler if you're just doing a spraypaint job.

The main question is, where can I get the paint?? I can't find it anywhere. I bet the dealership will charge an arm and a leg for a single can and I need at least 4 plus the primer and all other materials.

Ypu can try napa. Some of them mix paint. It's ike $70 for 1 qt. plus you need primer, reducer and clear coat, but it will look 100x better than out of a spray can.

Yeah, I haven't tried Napa. That might be my only choise left. I even went to the dealership and they told me that they don't carry paint for cars from that year or anything around that period. Go figure.
I will definetely try napa though. First I gotta fix the coolant leak whereever it is. Friday will be a "take everything apart" day and hopefully I can replace everything that needs to be replaced. I hate leaks whose origin I can't see.
