What's the quality of the Hasegawa Ford Focus WRC 2003?

Hello,

I wonder how good/accurate the Hasegawa Ford Focus WRC 2003 is. (this one)

I read something about a 1999 rollcage?

What about the proportions, are they right?
(I have no experience with Hasegawa)

Thanks.

I don't know where such rumours are from, but I heard worst things possible about this kit, too...
and finally decided to judge by myself and bought one.
It's nice, accurate and really have 2003 parts !
I just had a few problem to fit the front spoiler on the body and broke a pin of the rear one that make it fit well on the body...
Nothing very serious.

On my opinion this focus is as good as the first versions from hasegawa.
I hope they will release the 2006 version ! them other tamiya, but someone please !

Notice that Renaissance proposes TK to modify the 2003 into 2004/05 version.

Phil

I have one myself, and it looks decent. I did hear that the roll cage is totally innacurate, that it's the one from the 2000 spec car or something. The only ding is that it lacks P/E details like their other kits.

Despite the 2003 Hasegawa Focus looks fine, interiors are not accurate, in particular door panels and rollcage. About the proportions, generally speaking Hasegawas are a bit undersized.

Well, to be more accurate, Hasegawa models are generally smaller than Tamiya versions of the same car. The general feeling is that Tamiya tweaks the dimensions to make the look more 'right' in 1/24 scale.

I think I would have to open the box with glasses on my nose !
of course rollcage is not accurate, doorpanels I didn't take a look at it...
I specialy talked about dashboard when talking about 2003 parts, cos' that's about it I heard something wrong before buying the kit.

The dashboard isn't entirely accurate either.

Marco, I'm sure you're more than able to make an accurate and great-looking model out of that kit.

(: Well, to be honest, there were more things in my life that needed my attention, I lost this forum out of sight.

Thanks for all the information guys, I think I'll give it a try and order this kit.

No one will ever doubt you are Dutch!

It's weird that there aren't many newer Hasegawa Focii built on this forum. I thought they'd be more popular, but for some reasonthey don't seem to be. So I'm looking forward to something from you, whenever that may be.

Hey Marco! Good to see you back around these parts.

As for the kit, yeah sure it has its problems. But if you want to build a 2003/4 Focus it is the only way to go.
