Question carb jet size

I just put a holley 600 and a edelbrock intake on a 351 cleveland. The motor seems to get flooded for a second when I open the throtle. I think the primary jets are too big. Jet size 61 is in the carb. Can someone tell me what size I should use? possible timing is off a little.Im using Petronics wireless points. Does anyone know what the timing should be? Can someone help this pony run faster? Thanks guys.

Re: carb jet size

the best thing u could do to find the jet size is to go to a local performance shop and buy a set of diferent jets for the holley 600 and try each size the jet size can realy differ for each engine depending on your setup. and if u have a timing light and a manual for the engine/car then it should tell u what the timing should be its usualy just slightly retarded from topcenter.
