Why do some cars make more power on smaller injectors?

I got to thinking about this and I relized that dsm's seem to use larger injectors than a lot of cars when dealing with high hp. For example stock 4g63 injectors are 450cc but I have a buddy thats making close to 300whp in his turbo civic and hes running dsm 450s and he said he has plenty of room left on them. Also I've seen skylines and supras making 500+whp on like 460cc injectors. Whats up with this?

I can understand impedance, but I would think if you go with a larger engine you would need more are and consiquencly more fuel. To me making 500+hp on injectors smaller than a stock dsm just seems a bit weird

also rember that the skyline has MORE injectors...My 450s maxed at 16psi on an EVO III so I cant really explain why the honda is makine 300whp on 450s....different displacement will chew less gas, as will less boost.....

Yeah, each injector needs to supply X amount of fuel for Y amount of air. Though the Skyline has more displacement and more cylinders, its only a 2.6 right? That means that each cylinder volume is .433L and the 1.6 Honda engine has .4L compared to the 4g63 that has roughly .5L per cylinder. See what I am getting at? Each cylinder from those two cars require less gas, so smaller injectors will suffice. I know theres those other things, but this is what I think. I thought about it for quite a while after I got my modified mag a couple weeks ago, and this is what makes most sense to me.

That makes alot of sense, but it still seems weird to me that other cars can produce so much more power then DSM's. I mean granted more cylinders=more power but even Honda's, all well, I'll stick to the 4g anyday(unless I find a cheap mkIV supra, then I'll have a 2jz also )
