Hi...
I just bought a 2005 GA, my husband is actually outside right now trying to figure out how to remove the old speakers to put in our Kickers. I figured I'd ask y'all how to take them out before he rips 'em out...any info would be great! Thanks!!

Re: Changing the back speakers...
Welcome to the Forum,
I hope I can help but it has been a while since I have changed speakers. In my 96 Grand Am the rear speakers were held in place with a bracket that slips in place via 2 tabs on one side and a rod on the other side that slides into a retainer. Chances are that your Kickers will not work with the factory brackets so your husband will have to mount the speakers with screws or nuts and bolts. I replaced my speakers and used long sheet metal screws and have not had any problems. Hope this helps, |

Thanks for the info...I think he figured that part out, but we're having problems removing the cloth that covers them (on the inside). If that even needs to be done. The plastic speaker covers are some how attached to the cloth...I wonder if you snap those off from under-neath? Maybe he could unhook the speaker, move it to the side and snap the covers apart...I guess we'll have to try that...
Thanks again... Jenn

Re: Changing the back speakers...
cloth? Might be the screen of the speaker... havent seen the back speakers yet myself but I recently changed out the 2 in the front and the stock speakers had a black like cloth on those but it was just for protection on the speakers... was pretty simple.
Good luck though

Re: Changing the back speakers...
the top grills are just cliped into a piece on the deck. Just pry up on them with a screw driver.
