Re: chip for ga
I dont know what chip ur talking about on ebay, but thiers a DHP chip I saw somewhere, its about $300 maybe more.
You could possibly get 20hp, but not with just the chip. You need more air in more air out to go with all that fuel the CHIP dumps in. I'll see if I can find where I saw the DHPs, and watch out for those EBAY SCAMS!~! Here is one not the DHP but close to the same. JET PCM

Re: chip for ga
Heres another one from Part for your car
http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.m...y_Code=GAUNDER It says 6-10hp gains with preimium fuel. My alteration are simular to this chip, but a few more modifications were done to increase mpg.

Re: chip for ga
Yeah, the chips people sell on ebay are totally fake and are known to even decrease horsepower with some.
I personally have the DHP PCM and I personally like it a lot, the things that it does is: remove the governer on your car (you can now go past 107 if you have a grand am se or past 120 if you have a gt) changes the shiftpoints of your car to the best places Adds a few horsepower Requires premium fuel (92+ octane) (say goodbye to that extra bit of money) I wouldn't buy a PCM until you have done other mods first though, it just wouldn't be worth it. I would strongly suggest getting a cold air intake before getting a PCM. For the following reasons: 1. It creates better airflow from the engine so the engine doesn't have to work so hard to get the air it needs which will free up lost horsepower. 2. Your PCM won't see as many gains with completely stock, the cold air intake would definately complement it.

perfect! thanks again. Those chips on ebay are just resistors which i think makes your car run rich or something like that.

Re: chip for ga
The DHP PCM for the V6, is about your only option (as in a 'chip'; note there is no 'chip' for a GA). Don't believe half the crap on ebay.
Another alternative, if your keen and plan to do some more mods, is take the tuning into your own hands. I purchased tuning software from www.hptuners.com. This gives you pretty much free reign on close to 300 or so parameters (including the few that are modified by the DHP Pcm). DHP also has some software out there called a PowerTuner (www.digitalhorsepowerinc.com). Any of the 3 items above, if applied to a stock car, will help out. However if you plan to modify your car, you can actually outperform the stock parameters of the computer (quite easily on the GA). Depending on the depth of the mods you plan, should help you decide which item to purchase. Good luck! |

Re: chip for ga
Forgot to mention, for mail order PCM's (like the DHP PCM) another company does make them for us. MilzyMotorports.com is one. I think ZZP might make one for us too, but I'm not 100% sure (they just got into the GA).
