ebay Strut Bars

Im looking for strut and sway bars. are items on ebay good quality? should i trust them. any trusted brands you recommend. are quality bars made of aluminum or titanium? thanks

ive seen people use ebay struts with no problems but personally i dont like to go cheap with suspension

are the cheap ones made with same material. whtas the difference? is it jus tname brand

it's just the brand name. i agree with the comment of not buying cheap suspension but a strut bar is just a strut bar. suspension you should not be cheap about are the sturts/shocks, springs, coilovers, and camber kits. everything else is game.

strut bars may add a little handling but only really show a difference with other suspension mods

Unfortunately there is more to a strut bar than a peice of metal crossing over the engine bay. Mounting locations. Materials. and over all design play big parts in what will or wont be improved.

Mounting locations: Does it bolt to one anchor bolt and one shock tower bolt? or all 3 shock tower bolts? or all 3 shock tower bolts plus a firewall mount? Each stiffens the chassises in different areas and gives differenct advantages.

The 1 anchor bolt and one shock tower setup is common with the Neuspeed bars. They are also usually constructed of one peice. This means stiffness is none adjustable and stiffens the frame a great deal w. no tuning involved.

The 3 shock tower mounting locations are common with Tanabe bars, but are usually a multi peice design. Multi peice is usually thought of as flexing points and weaker design... but .. the multi peice allows you to determine the stiffness of your strut bar and also mounting to three shock tower bolts, keeps the shocks from twisting and keeps the overall suspension more secure than a neuspeed bar.

then theres material. eBay bars are made of cheap quality and they WILL BEND. neuspeed is made of 100% high quality aluminum. Tanabe is made of high quality aluminum with steel end plates b/c steel is stronger.

Titanium bars are amazingly light! Getting titanium bar is like a strut bar w/o a strut bar (weight wise).

I can get a lot more in depth but ill save that for later ..

BOTTOM LINE: All strut bars are NOT created equal.
