The return of the beast

So after 2 months, I'm going to pick up my car this weekend. I'm so pumped. I've already purchased plenty of coming home presents for it. Magnaflow muffler, Magnaflow HF cat, symborski shift kit, SS clutch line, underhood shifter bearings, K&N recharge kit, new NGK plugs...

It almost wasn't ready because they couldn't start it. Turns out the fuel pump rewire I did shorted out something. I guess I didn't solder well enough . A nice little $200 mistake. I'll redo it better when I put in my 190 in May.

A little OT but my gf is no longer going to the Peace Corp. For those who care, she was supposed to leave at the beginning of Jan. She ended up getting pushed back to March (2nd time being pushed back). Basically she decided to start job hunting to see if she could find something and if not, she would just leave in March. Well, she got a job and subsequently an apartment about 2 blocks from me. So now I have her waiting to be installed into the passenger seat.

Almost lost my car and my girl, now I got 'em both back.

Re: The return of the beast

i know the feeling. When you go from something in passenger seat to nothing it's a big hit. Much more fun to enjoy with two people.

I guess I don't recall what happened to your car and why it's been gone.

Re: The return of the beast

Girl in the passenger seat is an easy install... only problem is it can be noisy after installation. High pitch noises that may be devestating to your hearing. You have been warned.

In all seriousness though, congrats on having it all together. Hope you have fun.

You might have hit on the reason why most of the good upgrades make our cars louder. Speakers, exhaust, intake, turbo, cams, BOVs... It's all making sense.

Have any of you guys seen those new GTI commercials? Its funny, they personify the driver's need to go fast into this little black, sleek, looking little monster thing with a big grin on its face and has a deep voice. Anyways, the guy is driving his girlfriend and she's complaining about the windows being down. Goes something like this.

Girlfriend: Why are the windows always down, its chilly. Can you roll them up?
Fast: NO!
Guy: Maybe later hunny.
Girlfriend: Can't we roll the windows up? My hair is getting messed up.
Fast: NO! My fast likes the windows DOWN!
Guy: Hunny, can you quiet down a bit, I can't hear the engine over all that yakkin.

Love that commercial. Anyways congrats on gettin your 2 girls back.

Re: The return of the beast

I could just imagine what would happen if I tried that, it would go something like this:
Girlfriend: Why are the windows always down, its chilly. Can you roll them up?
Fast: NO!
Guy: Maybe later hunny.
Girlfriend: Can't we roll the windows up? My hair is getting messed.
Fast: NO! My fast likes the windows DOWN!
Guy: Hunny, can you quiet down a bit, I can't hear the engine over all that yakkin.
Girlfriend:*Smacks me in the head* Pull the damn car over and let me out then

lol

Re: The return of the beast

I've already had one girl break up with me citing my eclipse as a reason. I might have to tell the fast to chill out. Tossin milkshakes is nice and all but +1 is more fun .
