Ash Tray removal on 98 lumina
I was just wondering if anybody out there could help me on removing the ash tray on my 98 lumina. I want to take it out and just put a piece of metal or plastic over the opening so i can mount my satelite radio reciever somewhere besides the windshield. Any advice/ instructions on doing this would be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance.

if the ashtray is the same in the 99, which i am sure it is, there is a catch that you have to push in order to get it out.

Think that was tough....try putting it back in.
 I've never seen a more difficult ashtray to get back into the dash, requires the patience of Ghandi and the fine motor skills of a fighter pilot.  Will go in about 15 different ways, only one is correct. And if you get it wrong, the tracks break. I bought one at a salvage yard so I'd have an extra, and just mounted my CB radio to it  . you might consider that, unless you can take advantage of the recessed area with it removed....
