High Pitch Whine at 98K miles

I have a 2001 LS V8 with 98k miles and no past trouble, recently have noticed a high pitch whine coming from under car. Seems to get higher as I accelerate. Does not happen in reverse. Shifting is fine. Fluid was changed 5k miles ago, no problems. Any suggestions?? Dealer looked at it and could not come up with anything.

Just a guess here, but did anyone inspect the u-joints in the driveshaft to the rear?
