which engine

Hi,
A friend looked at a 98 and didn't find out which engine.
My truck is a 97 K1500 5.7.
Our questions are,
Which engines were offered in 98, and when was the new body style introduced?
Thanks,
Bob B

Re: which engine

The new body style came out in 1999.

The engines offered in the 98 K1500's were Vortec 4.3L V6, Vortec 5.0L and Vortec 5.7L.

Re: which engine

Look at the 8th digit of the vin.

Z & W 4.3
H & M 5.0
K & R 5.7

K is the 350 TBI and R is the 350 Vortec (I think)
