need a wheel

probly a dumb question

i would assume the best place to get a single stock rim would be ebay. if theres somewhere better, let me know

one of my rims is bent for the second time. (potholes SUCK) and i need a new one before i buy new tires and end up cupping it or something

Re: need a wheel

Actually stock rim on a GT is 225/50/r17 (if I recall correctly) You could check ebay. Or you can check out here http://www.club3g.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=24. If I recall correctly Elchicoloco86 at one point in time had some extra rims that he was selling. You might want to hit him up with a PM and ask him. If he does I highly recommend him. Bought a flywheel from him and it was the best transaction I have ever had.

Re: need a wheel

stock size tire on a '03 GT is 215/50-17.

ebay is probably your best bet.

PS...you gotta watch out for those potholes

After checking the receipt from the Tires I bought a couple of months ago Eclipsed4utoo is correct. The stock tires are 215\50\R17

Re: need a wheel

yup 215/50/17, i really like it being 50, but some of these potholes here will swallow my tires whole!!!

i've got an 03 GT rim (unpolished) with a knick in a spoke but i never hit anything... so i'm at a loss for how that got there (no centercap, so hang on to the one you got)

and i've got a pretty scraped up 6 spoke rim, straight, but its not very pretty and nobody seems to want it, i'm taking it to get scrapped soon w/ the bent GTS rim i have, after winter ends that is, and my dad's truck doens't need any more weight in the back

i've been looking for spare rims for cheap around here ... they aren't very easy to come by at all

Re: need a wheel

Man those wheels must be junk. I know I hit some railroad tracks and bent all four of my stock wheels. I had to go that day and buy all brand new wheels.

I have seen single wheels on e-bay in the past. I did see one that was selling for .99 last week. I am sure that is gone now.

Good luck in what ever you decide on doing.

Re: need a wheel

This is just a note for all the morons that dont understand how Ebay works. DONT JUST LOOK AT THE SALE PRICE!!!! You also have, HAVE, to look at the shipping price, because that is how they make money. You can find some really good deals there, but you can also get ripped off. Something that sells for like a buck will ship for like 100 bucks. Just look out.

also....just because it says .99 cent today, doesn't mean that it is selling for that. remember, people BID on the products. if its .99 cent, then nobody has started bidding on it. it probably also has like 5 days left before the auction ends.

Re: need a wheel

the reason i wanted to know what tire size he was looking for was to see if he needs thicker tires.

Re: need a wheel

ya theyre 215/50R17 the 6-spoke rims for the '00 GT

i tried balancing my tires and the balancing machine said they were balanced when i was dont but they still vibrated. so that should most likely be the rim right or both

my front tires have all sorts of abnormal wear all over the place and my rear tires are cupped

Re: need a wheel

Sounds like you need new tires all around.

And thanks for the e-bay advise. If someone is stupid enough to buy something for .99 and pay 100 bucks for shipping......shame on them. What I saw was a rim going for .99 cents and shipping for 30 bucks. It had 3 hours left on bidding and I am sure it went for more then the asking price. But thanks for the e-bay advise and I hope someone learned something. I already know how e-bay works.

For all of you that use paypal......go here...... www.paypalsucks.com you might learn something.
