New Firebird Owner Questions

Hello

I bought my 1st firebird (1995) a week ago and I wanted to say thanks for all the great information here. I owned a 1977 camero back in the late 80's (High School) and for some odd reason buying imports since then.

I bought the firebird on its good looks and nice sound to it, and I have to say its great... I even turn a head or two.

So Questions (Kinda silly ones today)

1. Why is the cup holder sooo small - it cant seem to balance a soda - any way to fix this?

2. The glove box latch seems to be missing (broken off). This is the bart that the door hooks into. Any ideas on a fix?

3. Any good web site for all firebird tv ads?

So far I have programmed a new remote, re-keyed the car, changed oil and air filter, fixed the pass side window switches and some cleaning issues... Its been fun to own so far.

(see pics in signature)

Very nice car there and the cup holder does suck but no fix I know of short of ruining your console. Is the part of the latch on the door broken or the part in the dash itself?.

Re: New Firebird Owner Questions

1. Yes, I agree, the cupholder does suck indeed. I normally just used it for my cell phone. The only thing I can recommend you to do, would be what I did... Look on ebay for a center console from a 97-02 Firebird or Camaro and swap them out. The 97 and up f-body's came with a redesigned center console that was equipped with 4 cupholders. Makes trips to McDonalds alot easier.

2. Again, I would suggest searching for a replacement door on ebay. You would be suprised with what you can find on ebay.

3. For the commercials, here's a link to a site that has 3 of them.

Yeah, it will bolt in perfectly. Check out my cardomain site on page 2 and you'll see the difference.

Actually no, GM changed the interior of the Camaro's and Firebirds in 97. So in 97 the interiors of both cars became almost identical.

Nah, they kind of did it one step at a time. The interiors in 97, and then the body's w/ the new LS1's in 98.
