Head Gasket? I Got Oil Under Intake.
Hello,
I've frequented this forum since I bought my car 2 years ago. I really need help on this one. My car never lost any oil before my wife overheated it about six months ago. Now, the leak suddenly went from 1-2 quarts per oil change to a quart a week. Somewhere on this forum I saw a post about an 'outer' head gasket leak. He put his dipstick down near the starter and found a ton of oil. Well a week ago I did a full oil change and now im down like 2 quarts. So i check and I have a 'sh*t' load of oil between my engine heads. There has always been a lot of oil under the car. I thought it was an oil cooler line or a level sensor because the oil was always near them. Now I have an idea where it has been leaking. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of leak? I have oil above the valve cover, on top of the valve cover bolts. Could this leak be caused by blown valve cover gaskets? I usually know what I'm talking about with this car but this is kinda odd. I have no other symptoms of a head gasket leak. Any ideas? |

Anyone? Can I Be The Only One With This Sort Of Problem. Probably A Good Thing If No-one Else Has Had This Happen.

Re: Head Gasket? I Got Oil Under Intake.
I don't know about your specific problem, but I do have some experience with Aurora head gasket failures. Nothing you've so far described fits this scenario. If you're not overheating or loosing coolant, you most likely don't have a headgasket problem. Your idea of bad valve cover gaskets sounds a lot more plausible.

Re: Head Gasket? I Got Oil Under Intake.
Thats Good To Hear. I Looked Again Today And It Does Seem To Be Coming From Valve Cover In The Front. Thanks.
