What is the biggest 16" tire I can fit on my truck without a lift kit ?

Re: What size Tire ?

The biggest without rubbing and or cranking anything is the 285/75/16.

Re: What size Tire ?

That sounds good I thought a 265/75/16 was the biggest I could go.

Thanks.

265/75/16 came stock on mine and have had 285's since the originals wore out.

Re: What size Tire ?

That what i run since about 15.000 miles. It does change your suspension geometry so you have to get a front end alinment but mine only rubs my mud flaps a litte when i turn and i dont care about that. Big improvement on handling and ride from stock. plus it just looks right...jj

Re: What size Tire ?

You can fit 305/70/16 if you'd like to crank your torsion bars a little.

Re: What size Tire ?

FYI

265/70/16 30.8" OD 10.9" W
265/75/16 31.8" OD 10.6" W
245/75/16 30.6" OD 9.9" W
285/75/16 33" OD 11.7 W

W is the width at the tire's widest point, not tread width.

Which way do you crank the Torsion Bars?

Also: This is to Jeverett:

Did I read your specs right on your truck? you have 03 tailights on it? Was there any special wiring to cutout you needed to do?

You turn them clockwise to preload them more. Probably about 4 full turns per side.

And yes. I do have 03 taillights. I did have to do one simple modification to get all the lights to work. Heres a link to that thread. This is the one I used to give me full details. It only took about 10-15 minutes.

Re: What size Tire ?

Hey, thought since you live in south Georgia, I read in an offroad mag. that there is going to be a truck show on April 27th in Callahan Florida. The Clay county 4x4 club is hosting it. Don't know why their having it in Nassau county. But whatever. They call it a "Shine & Show". I'll double check to make sure I have the date right. I do know it's on a Sunday. Just thought you might be interested. Later.

Re: What size Tire ?

I've got info on the truck show I mentioned the other day;
Go to claycounty4x4.com then click on the "Back Yard Bash" link. It has all the info about the event. I was told that directions to the property will be provided a little closer to the event date. BTW I was wrong about the date before. The date is Sunday, April 23rd. Sounds like a pretty good event. Let me know if you need any thing else.
Later. Joe
