2002 envoy dies when I turn Air Cond on

When I put the air conditioning on the low oil pressure light comes on and the car dies... Does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

Does it start right up or do have to shut the a/c off, need more info here.

This just stated happening recently...I seem to be running rough when I was stopped at a red light so I turn the Air Cond off so I could hear the engine better and right away I noticed the car started sounding better...... Later on I turned the air back on but when I stop at a stop sign I notice it running rough again and then I noticed the low oil presuure light came on,,then the car died... I started it back up and quickly turned the Air Cond off.... I will try again and see if it start with the Air Cond on... Thx for helping..

Welcome to AF, this is a 4 year old dead thread, in the future start a new one. Anyway the usual cure is to clean the throttle body.

You may have a a/c compressor thats trying to lock up.
