this problem recently started, when i came home and i was about to park my car in the garage for the night i noticed a kinda grinding noise coming from my engine bay, so i popped my hood and took a look. i checked my trany fluid it seems to be ok. when i have the car in neutral it grinds until i press my clutch about half way. what might be a problem? It seems like it may be the throwout beering but i am not sure. i had the tranny replaced about 10,000 miles ago and a centerforce stage 1 clutch. any help would be apreciated. i dont know what the prob;em is.

Re: !997 honda civic ex grinding in nuatral
sounds like it might be the throwout bearing but I'd let someone listen to it before you tear it apart I had the same problem and just replaced mine last weekend its a job so I would be sure

Re: !997 honda civic ex grinding in nuatral
Mine makes that same sound...Its not a grind its like something spinning freely inside your tranny when u let off the clutch in Neutral, but with clutch in it dont make a sound clutch out it does...Most times its just a shitty Throw out bearing from past experiences i've had...
