Re: stupid question

Not everyone buys their cars intending to go fast and tackle corners. An eclipse might look fast, but that is as far as it goes unless you mod it, but even then, there are its limits due to how "fat" it is. The 3G was not designed to be a fast nor nimble car. One thing I like about mitsubishi is their cars are affordable with decent mileage--in other words, cheaper than its competitors. I kind of like the hatchback as well.

Re: stupid question

i didn't know the car was fat and slow until after i bought it. then i decided to buy another one because it looked good and I knew that I would never be able to drop $8000 into the engine to make it fast.

Re: stupid question

I like the way the mine looked as well as the way that it drove. Granted it is not the fastest thing on the earth but it honestly is not the slowest thing either. Main reason that I bought it that was it kinda reminded me of my 3000GT (Base Model) that I had totalled and I loved that car. Beside if you are willing to fork out some cash the slow part can be easily taken care of.

Re: stupid question

I bought my car because I got a really good deal on it and I think it looks good. The fast and nimble can be taken care of with enough (translates to a lot as I have found out) money. I don't have a problem with my car. I love it to death and I would never get rid of it unless someone gave me an extremely tempting offer.

Re: stupid question

i like it for its sporty but not fragile look (such as the celeca that looks like itd fall apart if i hit a bump on the road too hard) and its overall utility (big trunk, reasonable cabin size, reliable, decently fuel efficient). its not the fastest car ever but it's still plenty of fun to drive and frankly, its a lot faster than most of my friends cars that they payed more for so thats good enough for me. theres not many cars like it really. the sebring sucks and the 3000gt is gone so other than that, i dont see another one like it.

felt fast on the test drive

i was actually looking for a 2g turbo, dealer tempted me into trying this one out, but i didn't kno that that was where the performance stopped...

now if i hadn't been so stupid and had bought a 2g turbo, i'd be dead, cuz i woulda flipped it going to fast or something... boost= crazy things happening

i shoulda gone w/ a 2g though

Re: stupid question

i have driven a 95 talon esi and a 98 eclipse awd turbo. the gsx was awsome but i would certainly not trade mine for it. i have seen the problems it has. i have helped my frind push it off the road too many times now and the new ones have a nicer interior by far if you ask me

Re: stupid question

I love my car. I have looked at others but I think the Honda's are rice burners. I like the way ours looks and rides. I have done a lot of mods in the last 2 months and so far I am very pleased on everything. Maybe it's because I haven't driven anything faster or better and I just don't know. But as of now I am completely satisfied with my purchase. I will stick to the Eclipse.

i wouldn't trade mine for one either, i'd just add to the collection

as far as problems go, get a built 6 bolt motor and all your troubles are over

oh yeah, and the interiors on these are so much nicer its incredible... my interior is starting to rattle and squeek though, so i'm going to get the screwdriver and take care of the loose ends
