Face Mask/Respirator saved my life!!

OKOK it didn't save my life yet, but it might one day...

so i've been painting with lacquer primers and automotive paints and the fumes are great at first but after awhile they set in and i feel kinda weird.. so i bought some cheap mask thingie, thinking that would help.... nope!!

so i went out and i got this nice half face respirator with dual cartridges and wow what a difference, can we say.. i can't smell any of the fumes now.....

i can actually spray paint for more than 20 seconds before i get the hell out of there!!

so if u do alot of spray painting get a respirator!

oh and of coz, do it outside or in a well ventilated area.

Yah man, I love my respirator, my best buy for sure too!

Seriously, if you don't have one, GET ONE!!! I just took out the filter of mine and it's saturated with paint. Get one especially for primer, cause that stuff is like fine dust, it stays supended in the air for a long time!

A word of advice: It doesn't work with smaller inorganic chemicals, they'll just get caught in the filter and make it stink. I put it on while handling ammonia and it didn't do shit, and i can still smell faint ammonia ever since. That stuff reeks!

Is this a good one to get???

It is made by 3M. I found it for $21 American dollars. Do you ever have to replace the filters?

you replace the filters when you can start smelling the solvents... essentially the filters stop filtering.

yes that looks like a good one, dual cartridge filters. Make sure it can filter paints and stuff. Alot of the ones that i've seen don't filter ammonia so don't worry about that.. whos' gonna go sniff ammonia anyways
