Exclamation Spit and Spudder

Need some help with my 94 cavaliar 2.2L. My car has almost 92K, when I'm driving along at 40 - 50 mph and step on the pedal alittle harder car starts to spit and spudder. I have change fuel filter and kept car in great shape. Can any body tell what I should be looking for or what I need to do?

Re: Spit and Spudder

Does it accelerate at lower speeds fine? If not, a plugged cat converter can cause lack of performance.
