3.1 to 3.8 engine swap

Hi all - I have a 1990 3.1. I may have some deep engine trouble. With the 3.1 being a little underpowered, how possible is it to swap it for a 3.8? If this is doable what years of 3.8's can be used? Also would the computer for the 3.8 need to be installed?

Save your money and go with the 3.1 again. The 3.8 would require a new wiring harness, pcm, different transmission, and a host of other items. More cost effective to either replace the 3.1 or buy another car with the 3.8 already installed.
