Had a dinner guest tonight

Dinner was pleasant, however,he did get a bit offended when I started snapping pics at him while his mouth was full. Can you blame him?

But once he started posturing like he was gonna take action against us we asked him to box up dinner and leave

Re: Had a dinner guest tonight

It's a wolf spider, very common in Arizona. They are pretty much harmless, you leave them alone, they leave you alone. I have heard though they can lay a good hurting on you when antagonized. Alex actually found him in one of the bedrooms. He was clinging to the cricket. We figured he earned his food so we put him outside after I was done taking pics

Umm....NOT harmless.

Quote:
Venom toxicity - the bite of the Wolf Spider is poisonous but not lethal. Although non-aggressive, they bite freely if provoked and should be considered dangerous to humans. The bite may be very painful. First aid and medical attention should be sought as soon as possible, particularly as to children or the elderly.

Re: Had a dinner guest tonight

We had one of those in our upstairs bathroom sink. I had just woke and was brushing my teeth I look down to spit and there it was. I jumped back and almost fell in the bathtub. Those things are huge.

Nice pic Kat

Not too big, but too big for my liking

I would make a rough guess that with his legs spead out there would be a 2" diameter or so.

So I was wrong about the harmless factor But they seem to do a good job minding their own business. I wanted him out before our dogs found him.
