Head lights on, interior lights go out! HELP!

Hi there, I finally got my tranny fixed...... Now another problem...

All my interior lights work great until I turn the head lights on..... Then when I turn my head lights on my radio lights go out, my temp and control lights go out and my DIC lights go out....... I have the dimmer switch turned all the way up..... My dash lights are also not working, makes it hard to see how fast I'm going while it's dark out! LOL!
Any suggestions on this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Could be coincidence but when this first happened I was holding hte eject button on my stereo because I thought there was a cd stuck in my cd player... I had Error 23 on my stereo, (it's working now)........
Please help, this is very annoying!

try cleaning the cd player. cd lens cleaner disc. if it keeps happening, get another newer unit or swap it out for a new cd player. pioneer double din. (what i have, fits perfect)-www.millionbuy.com. - circuit city can install remote transmitter to be able to use steering crontrols with new unit. - next step.

Try swapping out the dimmer switch. Also check the fuse box, as one couldve blown.

The dimmer switch work fine for all the other lights, as far as door lights....... As far as fuses, I checked all of them also...... They are fine..... I'm a little lost on what it could be.......

hey sup! I got tha same problem with my aurora! im curently still looking into it but it suck real bad. but i got a pioneer readio and it works jus fine it's the illumination wire that has shorted out> When i figure something out i will lert u kno!

Did anyone ever figure out what the problem was? I also have a 95 Aurora with the same exact problems. When the c.d. would fail to eject, and I would keep the eject button down, the instrument panel fuse would blow... as I recall, the 10A in the front by the driver door and the 15A under the back seat. I haven't had any c.d.'s stick but the instrument panel does not light up when the headlights are on. I wonder if I blew the module?? I am presently trying to figure out if the lamp module is bad. I do have 12volts at the dimmer but haven't checked at the module...I'm in over my head but I'm excited to find this forum.
