1997 Sunfire Non Shifting Transmission

We recently finished rebuilding a wrecked 97 Sunfire (2.4L & A/T).
When we road tested it, the car won't shift out of first gear. It only has 35k miles on it and has been sitting for 1 1/2 years since it was wrecked.
I get error codes P0753 & P0758 telling me Shift Solenoid A & B Electrical.
How do I "reset" the solenoids or do they need to be replaced?
If replacement is needed, where are they located?
Is it a simple repair, or should I haul it to the dealership for repair?

Thanks,
GLW

Re: 1997 Sunfire Non Shifting Transmission

I found this article which might be some help to you.

http://www.vcertt.org/news/2-04.pdf
(page 2 - section "MIL ON: GM TRANNY DTCS")

Might be a start before spending $$$ at the dealer.

Good Luck.
