Stumbling at Idle and accelleration
I have a 98 4.0L that is stumbling and sputtering at idle and through low rpms of 1st and 2nd gear. I have a trouble light that when checked tells me that I have two O2 sensor malfunctions. I did remove the guts of the catalytic converter because I keep shattering the element. I'm guessing that the computer is getting a bad reading just dumping the default fuel mix. What do you guys think? And do you have any way of getting around putting a cat back in?

Re: Stumbling at Idle and accelleration
my 98 did the same thing what it was is the bank 2 02 sensor (he back one) the wires were rubbing on the driveshaft shorting out the sensor. I put a new sensor in and fixed the harness. no probs since...
