Re: sunroofs

Do the motors work at all? The sunroof in my wifes SL2 started jerking and skipping all over the place when closing. It sounded sort of like a ratchet. If we pushed it along it worked great. I bought a tube of white grease (can't remember which brand or anything, just not the really sticky kind) and put it all over the tracks and the sunroof closes fine now. Of course, I think the motor kill switch has now gone bad. When we got the car, you could hold the close sunroof button until it was closed and it would kick off when it was fully closed. Now, if you hold the button, we get that ratcheting sound again because the motor doesn't quit until you let go of the button. Apparently there is a safety in there that if the pressure is too high when it closes, it will kick on and off.
