odometer + shift indicator

I have herd that there is a TSB for a ground wire or some thing like that, That gets loose and causes the LED display to go on and off on is own. in the beginning i could pat the dash and it would come on. Now it seems to come on when ever and mostly never, I like to keep track of mileage but can't effectively. Thanks for any advise or info.

Re: odometer + shift indicator

Like what year?
Just the two giving problems you will may find a bad solder joint inside the cluster. Bitch to find and bitch to solder. But can be done most of the time.
If there is a tsb on it your dealer has a tsb machine.
Give him you vin no and he can check for you.
But remember a tsb is a you pay deal if a recall they pay.
Good Luck MT

Re: odometer + shift indicator

That is one year I have run into the cold solder joint inside the cluster.
Kinda like the chev wiper motor circuit board.
One drop of solder will do it. But that is in the right place.

Re: odometer + shift indicator

If your electronically inclined and don't feel like tearing your cluster apart send it here.

When I had problems with my 90 Blazer Electronic Dash I just sent it there and within 10 days I had it back again. If my Silverado Dash Starts to do this Funky chicken with the odo and the shift indicator I'll try and fix it first if not I'll send it to them.
