How to get a 3000gt into the 12's

Alright, you guys have to excuse me for my lack of specific knowledge about 3s's. I "drive" a 1990 talon awd and am currently building the motor up to get into the low 11's or possible high 10's. Anyway, my friend just bought a 1991 3kgt vr4, we both love cars and kind of want to make both of our cars quite fast. With a dsm it only takes about $1200 to get into the 12's, but this is because of cheap aftermarket parts and they're fairly light. I was just curious about what kind of budget it would take to get a 3kgt into the 12's or if thats fairly easy what about 11's? Thanks guys.

Make sure there is nothing wrong with the car
Learn how to drive
Gut the cats
Put on a MBC@14 and boost gauge

That should get you there.

Wow, that's pretty impressive. He's working on an electrical problem right now. To turn the boost up from stock will he need a fuel pump rewire or do you guys actually have decent wiring? Thanks.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
