fuel gauge problems in a 93 3.8

I have a 93 3.8L thunderbird and the fuel gauge is always maxed out no matter how much fuel is in the car. I havent really looked at anything yet other than checking all the fuses in the car. I figured start simple and work my way up from there. So any information that you guys could provide me with that would keep me from just throwing money at the problem would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. My 93 lx fuel gauge stayed pegged out. I found out that on the instrument cluster , right hand side is a circuit board that slides into the cluster. Mine had worked its way part way out. I re-einstalled the board and everything is fine now.
