So what type of springs are people going with these days?

Im looking into buying some springs for my stang, gonna be the first suspension mod i do to it, been looking thru some ads and im kind of liking the Steeda springs, any bad reports on these? Any other brand you guys/gals would recommend?

How bout Front/rear lower control arms?

Thanks for responses!

They are the best.

Steeda springs don't drop the car all that much maybe 1/2 an inch to an inch. How rough of a ride can you deal with? You may want to go ahead and get matching shocks and struts, CC plates, and a bumpsteer kit at the same time depending on the amout of drop you are going for.

The only problem with Eibach springs is that they are too soft.

Re: So what type of springs are people going with these days?

Lol, thats kind of an oxymoron. The whole point of getting new springs is to help increase handling. Better handling usually means worse ride. Not always, though.

^^ you are right, but lowering the center of gravity will help in itself...

Re: So what type of springs are people going with these days?

Yes but going to a higher spring rate on lowering springs does more than drop of the center of gravity. Higher spring rates means less body roll.

Take my car for instance
2001 Cobra
Stock springs 500/470

H&R race 750-850/770
Pic of my car in a hairpin turn

Get a good alignment from someone who knows what they are doing. Don't just take it to some tire place and have them do it.

Depends on the springs you get, you can order any rate you want, and for Escorts the only stiffer spring are the Ford Racing suspention(no longer sold).

Hell my Escort has a STIFF ride, and i have Eibach/Tokico struts.
