it happens everytime, or just that once???

if it happens everytime, you probably have a vacuum leak somewhere. whether its a hose or the tank itself you will have to find. just get under the hood and listen for this hiss.

you can use some soapy water and put it on some places to see if there is a leak. if there is a leak you will be able to see it bubble unless it is a VERY large leak, then it will just blow the water out of its way.

hope this helps. the Z31 owners should be able to help you more than i can when they get on...they may be able to tell you exactly where to looks and what not.

if it were me i'd use ether or some sort of highly flammable substance in an arosol can... i'd rather listen for a speed up in idle than get soapy water in my vacuum lines...

ehh...

alot of people dump small amounts of water in their throttle bodies. it cleans the carbon deposits out of the motor. it wont hurt anything; it will vaporize before it even gets to anything important.

Re: No Brake Booster Z31

if there's soap in it, it might start to eat at the lines... not saying it will, but it could start to deterorate it over time depending on the soap... that's why i like alcohol based accelerants, they evaporate without residue

its just a recipe that my grandpa has used for 40+ years, from building cars to working on them. i just carried it on, it hasnt failed me once and i havent been using it for a good 7 years or so...

it doesnt matter, they both work...i prefer to use mine and you prefer to use your's.

well, replace whatever is broken...or take it to a shop, they will fix it for you with a breeze.
