THanks, that's what I thought too. Would you happen to know if an AEM bypass valve would fit on any other CAI? I don't want to risk getting water in my engine.

as long at the pipe diameter is 2.5, 2.75 or 3.0 inches, then yes!

these are the three sizes the BPV comes in...

I believe the HS and PR CAIs are 3.0 inch piping

I dont believe so.. its just preference, like choosing JWT or Stillen...

I read the file at hotshot, and thye said taht you have to cut something off the battery (??) and get a smaller battery.....for you, what did the total cost come to (new battery, cai, andything else?)??

No matter which CAI you get you will have to cut a hole in your engine bay, or enlarge it anyway...

There is a 1 inch hole or so that is utilized by the stock airbox system, you must enlarge this to allow a 3 inch pipe to fit through it.

the hole you are making is actually enlarging the hole where the stock airbox was. one sidebar with the Place CAI is that the lower tube actually curves in towards the firewall.. i actually shaved off about three inches to make it fit better. the optima battery is smaller and allows to be slid forward and make more room for the CAI. also i tried the AEM bypass but it set off the check engine light three times i tried after resetting the ECU each time. aaaaaand i live in florida and drive cold air all year long, look at the pics of my front end: http://1phatg.innernot.com and get a mental pic of what kind of abuse it takes up front.

well...i hope henry stays away from more cutting of the car..cuz achem..roof antenna ring a bell?? hehe..hmm..i shouldnt be talking either cuz i pulled a "henry" as well with my grill....ask b00gie what happened hahah..

anyway back to the issue...there's viturally no harm to drill the hole bigger and if you have the right drill..it's a 2 min job.
if you are worried, u can always get the JWT or Stillen...and u can always get it from me hehe..thanks!!
