Does other car shock absorbers fit on to the Civic 86 Sedan?

My shock absorbers have broken down. The new absorbers cost around 250dollars(4 pieces). The absorbers cost one third from the cars price, so i´m trying to find a more economical way to solve the problem. Are there any shock absorbers form other cars which could fit on to my Civic 86 Sedan? All suggestions are welcomed!

Unfortunately there are no others that will fit. Anything from an '84-'87 Civic or '86-'89 Integra will work, but they will all cost the same since they are essentially the same part.

This is partly why some people sell these cars so cheap, because some of the parts needed to repair the car cost more than the value of the car itself.
