bored at church
got bored at church and made a survey, after one person answers it the thread is pretty much over but *shrugs*
1. why do ricers think i'm a car expert because i know how "steam" came out of the skyline's bumper in 2F2F? 2. why are we high school students more prone to rice? 3. is the new GTO a domestic or import? 4. what is (are) the differences between the G35 coupe and V35 skyline? 5. do you agree that a wing on a fwd actually helps? 6. u.s safety and emissions regulations. smart or retarded? 7. why didn't ford make the hood scoops on the previous mustangs functional so they could help performance instead of makeit worse? 8. ruling out performance, are fwd's good? 9.are sr20det's overrated? 10. can a s2000 drivetrain swap be done on a civic? 1. They are ricers 2. They dont have the financial backing to support real mods 3. Pontiac GTO? uhh domestic. . . 4. I dont know 5. Yes a wing does help, the stock wing. 6. Smart for everyday people, dumb for enthusaist, should have a liscense you need to buy if your car doesnt pass emissions so you can still drive it, just pay more. 7. Because its FORD 8. They are practical for everyday use. Less power is needed, reliable, cheap. 9. Perhaps 10. I dont care |

1. Becuase they obviously don't know shit. 2. Lack of knowledge, lack of positive influence, and lack of money 3. The old GTO's domestic, new ones, import. 4. I think its just badging. 5. Yes, why do you think SCCA and such organizations use them? Practical on a 4-door Civic? No. 6. Dunno, don't care. 7. I guess they were even more retarded back then. Kinda like asking why Stangs had those side scoops that were "stylishly" closed shut by that honeycob shaped plastic. 8. For practical and DD purposes it is. 9. Depends on who talk to, and the answer should be hell no. 10. Anything's possible with money. But you're talking about going from FWD to RWD. Alot custom work there to be done.

Re: bored at church
1)dont' care
2)i think lack of funds and lack of knowledge 3)dont' care 4)the only dif between a V35 skyline and a G35 coupe is the badging and the fact that the skyline's RHD. 5)yes, vut only if it's functional. downforce on a car is good, traction whenever possible is a good thing. 6)the saftey standards are good, emissions standards only suck if you get tested in your state. 7)dont' care 8)i think they're fine for what i use a car for. others would disagree 9) they're no more overrated than honda's B series. sr20vet's dont' get much attention though, 278 hp out of a 2.0L is pretty impressive, not to mention it's the worlds first production motor to use variable valve lift and forced induction. 10)and there's a CRX around here with a mustang engine/drivetrain, anything's possible. on a side note, why even go to church if you're just gonna dick around? you think God doesn't know you're not paying attention? that's why i stopped going.

Re: bored at church
lets see
1 you mean the nos purge? 2 easily riced cars are all we can afford, plus parts are prevolent and cheap 3 import, its been roaming the streets in australia since like '97 (unsure of the date though) even though it was made by a gm owned branch in australia 4 dunno 5 yes. some on looks, functionally, yes, it can help keep your tail from getting light at higher speeds. 6totally hate emissions, too restrictive. it should be more a guidline then law 7 they shoulda, but it was mostly looks, i dont understand why the big 3 killed thier entry cars (fords zx2, chevy's cavilier, and dodge's neon) 8 in snow ild rather have front then rear, thats only when im driving srious though. 9 dunno 10 i hate civics, too many of them, the s2000 is a much better looking car when compared, but i dont know on that one either

2. Because HS students try to "fit in" more? 3. What is an import? Badge's country of origin? A Honda Civic is an import by that definition (despite American build), yet an Eagle Talon is apparently a domestic. Thus, is it the country of engineering and design? If I recall correctly, the Nissan Sentra is a completely American vehicle, along with many others, yet it is considered an import. It's impossible to lay rules as to what makes an "import" an "import." In the case of the GTO, I would say it is a domestically tweaked and produced version of an import, in the Eclispe/Talon vein. 4. No idea, could care less. 5. It can, provided the car is fast enough to need significant downforce, and the wing in question actually provides it. Best used in conjunction with a front spoiler to increase frontal downforce. 6. Good concept, antiquated and ill-informed execution. 7. They were there to portray an image of muscularity rather than perform a mechanical function. Consider the number of V6 Mustangs around - very few buy a Mustang purely for performance, and those that do, buy performance variants which do have functional scoops. 8. Most definitely. Most people use a car for basic transportation, and front-wheel drive allows for increased interior space for the commuters. In addition, it is generally more predictable in severe conditions than a RWD vehicle. 9. The hype is excessive, but the engine is good. 10. Anything can be done. I've seen a Mustang drivetrain in a Focus.

1.the same reason they want a spoon exhaust on their metro 2. we're more easily influenced to "go with the crowd" 3.don't care 4.badging, steering wheel 5. unless you're hitting turns at 80mph, no 6. ghey 7. ghey 8. yep, interior space and predictable traction 9. 450hp+ on a stock bottom end...'nuff said 10 anything can be done to a civic

Re: bored at church
dont care to answer, but sense the infiniti nissan question came up, ill make another.
Is the skyline a skyline if it's called an infiniti??? seriously! it's not the nissan skyline gtr35. its an infiniti something and it's not even closely priced for nayone to afford it! i could get 2 evos almost for what they've said they're going to sale it at.

My friend already put down a $50,000 deposit for one. It's coming out sometime next year, and the car costs $100,000. Yes, he's a rich bastard. I'll probably be one the first kids under 18 to try out the new skyline...
