1g UPDATE NON-56K friendly

Here is what I discovered upon removal of my head from the 1g gsx.

As you can see not good. But I was going to rebuild it anyway so no big deal. I just had to buy a new head.

Also I am the guy in the grey shirt with the extremely gay blue pants on. Haha I was borrowing clothes.

Re: 1g UPDATE NON-56K friendly

Damn that defiantly don't look good. But hell maybe for the best lol, at least u was planing on rebuilding and not a daily driver that would have sucked when the engine craped lol.

edit-don't look like that head gasket has ever been changed

Re: 1g UPDATE NON-56K friendly

Sh*tl! Looks like there was a valve just siiting on top of the piston. Too lean, timing off? Wtf happened? At least you can put some ARP sutds in now, and some nice head work, oh and some titanium valve springs and retainers, oversized.

Yeah no shit! Bright sunny day, laying the parts on your cement driveway, and doing it in shorts. Bastard .

That car ran didnt it? I swear that you said it ran fine, but I have no fucking clue how THAT could run. Man, I still am chuckling about it. Pistons all dinged up and one with a big ass hole, the valves dont even seat, and those spark plugs look like they went through hell and a half. Shit man, I dont even have enough imagination to figure out what could have went wrong. Skipped timing? Maybe broken timing belt and they just neglected to go inside and see whats up? Maybe someone just took the head off and beat the fuck out of it for fun. Yeah, thats what I bet happened.

I have those same jackstands.

I see two valves missing. In #1 and #2 cylinder both of them exhaust valves.

Re: 1g UPDATE NON-56K friendly

i think it was a little more than just jumped timing...like maybe some SERIOUS knock. it looks like you "blew" a hole in that piston from explosion and not just punched a hole in it with the valve. the piston looks melted on the top.
